Pharmacist Vote Results Vary by UFCW Local

Today, UFCW SoCal locals announced that pharmacists represented by Local 1167 voted to ratify a new three-year contract. Pharmacists represented by Locals 135, 324, 770, 1442, and 1428 voted to reject the offer.

For Pharmacists Who Ratified
Congratulations! Pharmacists represented by Local 1167 now have a new three-year contract that includes:

  • $7.75 per hour in wage increases over the life of the agreement for top-rate pharmacists
  • $8.25 per hour in total increases for Head Pharmacists
  • Retro pay effective March 2, 2026
  • Increases for pharmacists in the wage progression scale
  • No increase in weekly healthcare premiums
  • Continued investment in the existing pension plan, plus a new supplemental pension contribution
  • Up to 12 hours of holiday pay based on regularly scheduled hours

The Company will begin implementing the new agreement. Eligible pharmacists will receive more information about wage increases, retroactive pay and other changes as soon as details are finalized.

For Pharmacists Who Did Not Ratify
We are disappointed that pharmacists represented by Locals 135, 324, 770, 1442, and 1428 rejected the offer. For those locals:

  • Ralphs may withdraw all or part of its Comprehensive Offer: There is no guarantee that a future offer will include the same investment in wages and benefits or the same contract improvements.
  • Retro Pay Goes Away:As outlined before the vote, retro pay backdated to March 2, 2026, required first-vote ratification.
  • A Strike Is Possible:The Union told members that rejecting the offer could lead to a ULP strike. Any potential strike would involve only the locals and locations that did not ratify the contract. Stores represented by locals that ratified the agreement would not be included.
  • Business Continues:A failed ratification vote does not automatically mean a strike has begun. Pharmacists represented by non-ratifying locals should continue reporting to work as scheduled unless officially notified that a strike affecting their local and location has begun.

We will share additional information as it becomes available.
