Ralphs Shares Initial Wage Offer: Up to 4.5% Top Rate Increase Over 3 Years

Thursday, Ralphs and the UFCW Southern California Locals resumed negotiations for a new contract covering Ralphs associates. As part of the process, Ralphs shared its initial wage offer.

While there’s still more work to do at the bargaining table, this proposal shows our commitment to investing in you with meaningful, competitive wage increases.

Here’s what the initial wage offer includes:

  • Top Rate Associates: A $2.50/hour raise over three years
    • 2025: $1.00/hour
    • 2026: $0.75/hour
    • 2027: $0.75/hour
    • This represents a 3.7% increase for Top Rate Food Clerks and a 4.5% increase for Top Rate GM Clerks.
  • Progression Increases: Raises for associates still moving through the wage scale—including Courtesy Clerks.

Our goal is simple: to reward your hard work by putting more money in your paycheck, while continuing to provide affordable healthcare and strong retirement benefits.


What Else Happened
The company also presented the union with a proposal designed to clear the decks of currently open language items. In this proposal both parties would drop certain proposals and agree to the following:

  • Increasing the number of associates on union leave at given time from 3 to 12 and the number of union leaves an associate can take from 1 to 2.
  • The company will keep the union updated IF changes in the company makes policy changes that relate to immigration issues.
  • Associates will be allowed to use current leave benefits to address personal immigration issues.

Next Steps

  • The company and union are scheduled to meet again Friday, April 4 and May 12 – 14.
