Even with the extension in place, we’re aware that some UFCW SoCal locals have announced plans to hold a strike authorization vote in the coming weeks.

This vote does not mean a strike will happen—but it would give the union the ability to call one at any time. We believe threatening a strike right now is an unnecessary and unproductive step—especially with more bargaining dates already scheduled.

This vote is your opportunity to be heard. If you believe continued negotiations are the best path forward, we encourage you to:

• Attend the union’s vote meetings and vote against strike authorization
• Ask your union leaders to stay focused on reaching an agreement before the June 7 deadline
