Ralphs Negotiations Update for June 11, 2019

Negotiations

June 11th, 2019

Regular updates on the negotiation process are important. They help you stay informed, while letting you focus on your work and our customers through the negotiations process. We met with the union bargaining committee on June 10-11.

We made very little progress this week. We continued to discuss several language items but failed to come to an agreement on them. We still need to work through wages, health care and pension. We continue to share with the union that our total compensation package either currently meets or exceeds that of your peers in this market.

As we have stated from the very beginning of negotiations, we are committed to providing good stable jobs and competitive pay and benefits for our associates. We also need to keep our stores competitive in this changing retail environment.

We have heard that the union plans on taking a strike authorization vote later this month. We encourage you to attend any meetings and vote no on strike authorization. Strike authorization doesn’t necessarily mean a strike will take place. It means that the union can call a strike at any time if they get authorization from its members during the voting meetings.

We have more bargaining dates set for July 10-12 with additional tentative dates for the end of July and early August.

You can visit www.ralphscba.com to get updates as negotiations progress – no username or password required. You can also check your store communication board, FEED, and the Ralphs hotline number 800-615-7279. If you have any questions during this process, please talk to your store leader.

Thank you for all that you do for our customers and each other.
