Ralphs and Union Continue to Meet on New Contract

Negotiations

August 15th, 2019

As you know, negotiations are continuing this week with the company and union bargaining committees. Over the last few days, the parties exchanged proposals on wages and health care and have had some meaningful discussions.

We are continuing to bargain in good faith and are committed to an agreement that will help ensure that Ralph’s remains a place where people choose to work and where our communities choose to shop.

We want to reach a balanced contract – one that recognizes you for your hard work, including fair pay, affordable health care coverage and a secure pension when you retire.

  • We have offered top-rate increases that are higher than what we provided in our last agreement, which union members voted and ratified in 2016.
  • We have proposed to renew the Minimum Wage Letter, which benefits associates who are currently employed and at minimum wage.
  • We have offered to maintain your current generous health care coverage without any benefit changes or increases to your contributions.
  • We have proposed to secure and stabilize your pension for retirement.

We are all on the same team and we want the same thing: a thriving company that can employ people with fair pay and great benefits.

We’ll continue to keep you updated as we have information to share. We have more bargaining dates scheduled next week.
