Ralphs Continues to Meet with Union Locals

Negotiations

August 2nd, 2019

Thank you for your continued focus on your job and our customers through this negotiation process. Our goal is to keep you updated as we meet with the union. As you know, we started another round of bargaining with the union this week.

As we indicated in our update earlier this week, we ended our last sessions with some positive momentum. This week we continued to discuss language proposals and exchanged counter proposals on wages, health care and pension.

As we have said all along, negotiations can be a long process and take time. Bargaining is about finding areas of agreement, working toward reasonable solutions and compromising where both parties can.

No doubt, we will continue to have robust and lively discussions and there will be differences of opinion between the union and company bargaining teams. That’s the process. We have reached good agreements with the union before. We hope the union agrees that we can get a good contract again by working together.

In the end, it is about coming to a fair and balanced contract that is good for everyone – our associates, our customers, our communities and our stores.

We are in the process of scheduling more bargaining dates, and we will continue to keep you updated as we have information to share.

You can also check your store communication board, FEED, and the Ralphs hotline number 800-615-7279. If you have any questions during this process, please talk to your store leader.

We appreciate all that you do for our customers, communities and each other.
